Today is Marcus and Brooklyn's 8th birthday!! Happy Birthday!
I am sitting here in gratitude for the opportunity I have to be their mom. I am so grateful for their biological mother to trust her children in my arms. Adoption is a very hard thing to try and explain to people, a lot of them don't undersatand how we could love them as much as your other children. But I am so happy we made this choice all those years ago. Marcus and Brooklyn have brought so much happiness into our lives, we love them so very much. I can't even imagine out life with out them.
Legacy of an Adopted Child
Once there were two women who never knew each other,
One - you do not remember, the other you call mother.
Two different lives shaped to make yours,
One became your guiding star, the other became your sun.
The first gave you life, and the second taught you to live in it.
The first gave you a need for love and the second was there to give it.
One gave you a nationality; the other gave you a name.
One gave you the seed of talent; the other gave you an aim.
One gave you emotions; the other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile; the other dried your tears.
One gave you up - that's all she could do.
The other prayed for a child and God led her straight to you.
Now you ask through all your tears the age-old question through the years;
Heredity or environment - which are you a product of?
Neither, my darling - neither - just two different kinds of love.
Thank you for entrusting your children with me. I wouldn't be complete without them. They are so much a part of our family. I love you Marcus and Brooklyn with every beat of my heart. You 2 are amazing kids.
I love you for always and no matter what!
