Maui!

Bryon and I were fortunate enough to take a trip to Maui, Hawaii. We have been together for many years and have always wanted to make it to Hawaii. We went with Bryon's brother Greg and sister Heather and their spouses.

We had a rough start of our trip. Our flight was cancelled due to maintenance issues, US Airways told us they could get us to Maui the next day. (we were not willing to stay in SLC for another day) So the attendant at the desk got on the phone and was able to get us on a delta flight to Maui later in the day. Our connection was in LAX, and our connecting flight happened to be the same as his brothers flight. We finally made it to Maui, but unfortunately out luggage did not. It was 3 days into our vacation when we finally had our luggage join us. (Thanks to Delta for tracking it down, US AIR was not helpful at all). We did however have to go shopping for an outfit or 2 until it arrived (DANG)

We did enjoy every moment of our trip. It is truly paradise in Hawaii, so beautiful, and peaceful. We went to a LUAU which was totally worth attending. Great food and really great entertainment. We also decided to go on a snorkeling adventure to Molikini Crater and to Turtle Town. It is amazing to see the fish and sea turtles in their own habitat. It was so much fun, and totally exhausting. Bryon bought me an underwater camera for my birthday, so I was able to take lots of photos of our adventures.

We snorkeled almost everyday, got some color on my white body, and just enjoyed time together without the havoc of everyday life.

While we were in Maui Bryon's sister got married at the most peaceful, breathtaking beach (Makena Cove) absolutely amazing views here, and the softest sand.

I am so grateful to have Bryon in my life. And for the opportunities to enjoy each others company. As out vacation came to a close, we were sad to leave paradise, but super excited to see our kids. I am grateful to my parents to be willing to let the kids crash at their house while we were gone, and for Anika to do all the running to dance classes, and baseball practices, and get them home from school. Also to our friends for taking our 2 foster kids. It was a peace of mind knowing they were taken care of!
